When LED ZEPPELIN first emerged, in 1968, New Musical Express?scribe Charles Shaar Murray famously hailed their playing?style as “”Blues on steroids””. Rolling Stone later called them “”The heaviest band of all time””, “”The biggest band of the Seventies”” and “”One of the most enduring bands in Rock history””.
