The last place you might expect a bluegrass band to begin might very well be a middle school math classroom. But that”s where Matthew Rubin, Dave Henderson and Spencer Woodman first met Tim Wells, an old-time fiddler and-at the time-their math teacher. The four played together in different configurations over the years until the pandemic brought them all back to their native Hillsborough. As informal picking developed into a serious group, the Carolina Cutups

Molded after early bluegrass groups like the Shenandoah Cutups, the Carolina Cutups”s music could be at home in 1944 as comfortably as it is in 2024.
