Rotondi began as a theatrical act at the underground Los Angeles theater the Wallenby, and then moved up to Beverly Hills” Mischas. The group was a strange amalgam of musical genres, somewhere between Tom Lehrer, Weird Al Yankovic and Frank Zappa. While aspiring to become a polka band, the band played most punk and alternative rock dance venues from Hollywood to the Village, culminating with a memorable performance on the TV show “”Crime Story.”” a great band with crazy lyrics and catchy melodies, Rotondi would have been a household name if polka received the recognition it deserved.
