For Eddie is in a class by himself and if he didn”t invent the banjo he might as well have! The ever dynamic, Mr. Peabody went on to invent the “”banjoline”” – the world”s first electric banjo with vibrato attachment and it”s distinctively romantic tones can be savored here in: “”My Blue Heaven””; “”Drifting and Dreaming””; “”Let Me Call You Sweetheart””; “”Always”” and “”Roses of Picardy””. Eddie”s sustained popularity was down to his ability to interpret almost any style from a good old-fashioned shuffle through to some rocking and rolling to beguine and Hawaiian. Although the banjo may make periodic disappearances from musical vogue it is never for too long.
