Everybody is familiar with the feeling of chaos in dreaming; where everything simultaneous moves counter to logic but somehow still makes sense in the moment. In this notion, the members of Los Angeles-based instrumental rock outfit, Night Verses, found the core concept of their sophomore Equal Vision / Graphic Nature Records full-length, From The Gallery of Sleep. Starting with over 30 open-ended interviews with friends regarding what they experienced while dreaming, Aric Improta (drums/sampling), Nick DiPierro (guitars) and Reilly Herrera (bass) set out to create the sonic equivalent to the world we all enter when we go to sleep. More of a multimedia examination of dream sequencing than a standard record; From The Gallery of Sleep takes a non-linear approach to composition that creates a soundtrack of chaotic transitions and dynamic shifts that somehow manage to surprise the listener while feeling perfectly logical.
