Members of Scots group Malinky
MIKE VASS and DAVE WOOD are both members of Malinky, described as ”one of the greatest Scottish traditional bands”. Mike Vass plays fiddle and Dave Wood plays guitar and bouzouki. They are both masters of their respective instruments and Mike is regarded as one of Scotland”s finest young fiddlers, while Dave is one of the leading guitarists on the folk scene due to his innovative, rhythmical accompaniment style. Both have wide experience of playing with other artists and in bands. In addition to their touring with Malinky, Mike and Dave work together as a duo from time to time and produce very exciting instrumental sounds, having a great mutual understanding of the music they both love and play. They recorded this excellent album at Castle Sound Studios, Pencaitland, using three other musicians: Damien O”Kane (vocals, tenor banjo and guitars), James Lindsay (double bass) and Steve Fyvie (drums and percussion).
