Limited edition yellow vinyl LP, 1972 French studio recording + 1966 & 1968 singles
The legendary Detroit first single (included here as extra tracks) was released in 1967, they went on to be the ”Official White Panther Party Band” preaching revolutionary ideology alongside dope, sex and r”n” played the infamous 1968 Democratic Convention that turned into a police manager, John Sinclair became a hippie martyr after being jailed for 10 years for 2 joints, inspiring John Lennon”s ”10 For 2” were thrown off their first label, Electra, and signed to Atlantic for 2 more greatly revered as one of the seminal rock”n”roll bands and a huge inspiration for punk.
”Thunder Express” documents their first and last studio work – six tracks recorded in France in ”72 at Studio Castle Herouville for a TV show; plus 4 tracks from their first two singles from ”66 & ” title track is a previously unreleased song unavailable extra tracks from the rare earliest single ”Borderline”, are inner bag with notes and interview from 1970, and the White Panther Party ”10-Point Program”.
