”Animal Instinct” was the first solo offering by Luis Cardenas, who is the precocious drummer/singer/songwriter from American rock band Renegade. Riding a crest of success with Renegade, Cardenas penned and recorded most of the material for this solo project including remakes of Del Shannon”s ”Runaway” and The Raspberries” ”Go All The Way”. Spawning the hit singles and award winning music videos for Runaway and Hungry For Your Love, Animal Instinct topped the charts around the World and remains in the MTV closet classics library today. Winning a Grammy Award nomination, the Del Shannon remake of Runaway was considered by Shannon himself to be the best rendition ever released. The music video for Runaway features Cardenas pet hybrid Bengal-Siberian tiger, Bundi. The Runaway video won best music video at both the New York and Cannes Film Festival. The two hit music videos within this enchanced CD are packaged with a 10 page booklet as a limited collector”s edition re-release. An upcoming CD from Cardenas, introducing his two sons, Nick and Zach, is set to be released Fall 2012.
