Flatwaves is a Philadelphia-based band that melds the lush, immersive textures of ”90s shoegaze with the raw energy of rock ”n” roll and the psychedelic swirl of fuzzed-out garage rock. Since 2018, they”ve been defying genres with swirling guitar layers, driving rhythms, and cavernous vocals, sonically checking influences like The Black Angels, Nothing, Cloakroom, and Dum Dum Girls. Their intense live shows deliver a celestial wall of sound that envelops the room while retaining a visceral and unfiltered edge. This summer, they”ll release their second LP on Abandon Everything Records, continuing the band”s explorations of death and disorientation.
