In her compositions Eva Klesse follows an emotional impulse above all. Sometimes it is melancholy, sometimes anger, sometimes joy, never indifference.

The young band was just two months old when it was selected to participate in the German Newcomers Festival. Eva Klesse and her band won the Leipzig Newcomer Prize. The jury praises the band as ”excellent”, and points out the bandleader”s talent ”to integrate differing temperaments and to write compositions which give cohesion to the group but at the same time respect the individual handwriting of the band members.” JAZZ THING describes the lady drummer as a ”sound aware player with powerful melodies”.

In September 2013 the quartet opened the Leipzig Jazz Festival, their concert at the famed Berlin Jazz Days in early November was a pure triumph in front of a huge audience and led immediately to the next invitation by the Berlin Jazz Days for November very different temperaments with very different backgrounds meet to fuse fully into a common band sound.
