Bible Hill, Nova Scotia-born singer Cindy Church walks a thin line between understated and underwhelming on this, her second album. Jazzy pop (Floyd Tillman”s ”I Gotta Have My Baby Back”), gospel (Shirley Eikhard”s ”It”s Just a Little Rain”), and uptempo rockabilly (Church”s own ”Sleeping Alone”) are all given the same overly polite country-pop treatment, with sprinklings of pedal steel and the occasional mandolin for embellishment.
